Constraint awareness is the ability to notice what a move leaves behind. A piece can fit in the moment and still create a blocked gap that causes trouble later.
For parents, this is a useful way to understand older KidSpatial puzzles. The child is not only matching shapes. They are reading which spaces are flexible, which spaces are awkward, and which pieces may need room early.
