Ages 6–8 · Level 1
Independent practice for ages 6–8
More pieces, more rotations, and the beginning of independent planning. Children learn to scan the target area and choose pieces without adult help.
What children practice
Level 1 puzzles introduce more pieces and the need for simple planning. Children practice scanning the target area, choosing a starting piece, rotating shapes, and checking whether a placement works before moving to the next piece.
From parent-guided to independent
Children at ages 6–8 start moving from shared parent-child puzzle time to independent practice. They still benefit from occasional prompts like 'Does that shape look right?' but can complete most Warm-up and Core Practice puzzles on their own.
